Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are actually open and can close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to fulfill the subsequent requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home which has a combined gross household earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined family revenue will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the proper Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or intend to research at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study 2025 nsfas application in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
